Populaire Sud, Nice’s main fan group, has called for unity to help the club stay in Ligue 1 and says it will demand answers when the season ends.

The group said in a statement on X that supporters should rally from Sunday’s match against Le Havre at 17:15, warning of the threat of relegation.

Nice lost 3-1 to Strasbourg on Saturday, their 15th league defeat of the campaign, and sit 15th with 27 points.

They are four points above AJ Auxerre, who occupy the play-off spot, and have not dropped to Ligue 2 since 1996-1997, a gap of 29 years.

The ultras argued the club’s identity has been eroded and described themselves as the last guardians of Nice’s soul. They want significant changes after the campaign to avoid a repeat of the current crisis, with explanations to be given and deep reforms pursued.

Some restructuring has already occurred in recent months, with Florian Bocquet departing after spells as managing director then chief executive. Franck Haise has left as coach, replaced by Claude Puel, and sporting director Florian Maurice is expected to exit at season’s end.
