Premier League arrival from Serie A names Anthony Gordon as his toughest opponent

Nicolo Savona arrived in the Premier League from Juventus this summer.
The defender joining Nottingham Forest from Serie A on 30 August 2025.
Nicolo Savona having played alongside the then Newcastle United loan player Lloyd Kelly in the second half of last season.
Despite Forest’s poor start to the season, the 22 year old defender who can play right-back or centre of defence has impressed. Savona recently scoring his first ever Premier League goal as well, when Nottingham Forest drew 2-2 with Man U.
Having made the transition from Serie A to the Premier League, Italian media keen to discover how the Italy Under 21 international has been getting on.
In an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, Nicolo Savona asked a number of questions, including who had been his toughest Premier League opponent so far.

“Newcastle’s Anthony Gordon.
When Nottingham Forest came to St James’ Park last month, they played a very deep defensive system, with five at the back and Savona at right wing-back, where he was up against Gordon for much of the match. Nicolo Savona playing the full game, whilst Anthony Gordon was subbed off with United 1-0 up and replaced by Harvey Barnes. Newcastle going on to win 2-0 with THAT Nick Woltemade penalty, following an Elliot Anderson foul on Bruno, the United captain having already scored himself to give NUFC the 1-0 lead.
