Looking at these Premier League fixtures in this round of matches.
Seeing the other games from a Newcastle United perspective.
Eddie Howe and his players kicking off at 4.30pm in their Sunday match at home to Arsenal.
First of all, seven other Premier League fixtures on Saturday.
Then two on Sunday including the NUFC match.
Before finally one on Monday night.
As a Newcastle United fan, have a look at this weekend’s other Premier League fixtures and have a think about what you’d like to happen and what is likely in terms of results.
Saturday 27 September
Brentford v Man U (12.30pm)
Chelsea v Brighton (3pm)
Palace v Liverpool (3pm)
Leeds v Bournemouth (3pm)
Man City v Burnley (3pm)
Forest v Sunderland (5.30pm)
Spurs v Wolves (8pm)
Sunday 28 September
Villa v Fulham (2pm)
Newcastle v Arsenal (4.30pm)
Monday 29 September
Everton v West Ham (8pm)
This is how the upper end of the table looks on Saturday morning (27 September 2025) before any of the Premier League fixtures this weekend are played:
My Conclusions
Saturday 27 September
Brentford v Man U (12.30pm)
Writing this article a bit later than intended.
I don’t see either of these teams finishing in the top half of the table.
I think Amorim is hopeless, totally out of his depth in the Premier League. Part of the massive (expensive) problems at Man U, not part of solution.
I thought this game looked a draw and with Man U currently losing 2-1 with an hour gone as this article is set to go up, it could exceed my hopes and expectations.
Chelsea v Brighton (3pm)
Chelsea playing their feeder club, getting a close look at who they are going to sign in the near future.
As usual, the hype around Chelsea is ridiculous. They have so many players but not many real quality ones, lucky to win at Lincoln in midweek. Brighton have a good team and really good manager I think the Seagulls swoop for at least a point here.
Palace v Liverpool (3pm)
I saw even Arne Slot has admitted how lucky Liverpool have been this season with late winners nearly every match, including at home to Southampton in midweek.
Similar to Brighton, Palace have a good manager and also appearing to be unnerved by losing star players. I think yet another draw beckons here and Palace the first to deny Luckypool a win.
Leeds v Bournemouth (3pm)
It was an excellent result last weekend for Newcastle in the circumstances, as Bournemouth looking good. Iraola is another very good manager and hopefully Leeds get something here. I think though Leeds will end up getting relegated and Bournemouth will get the win today.
Man City v Burnley (3pm)
Haaland is looking good but as a team, I don’t think Man City are convincing. Losing to Spurs and Brighton in the Premier League and throwing a win away against Arsenal with Pep going ridiculously defensive. They have only beaten two poor teams, Wolves and Man U, in the Premier League and just maybe Burnley will get a surprise point. Martin Dubravka has been in great form and after losing at Tottenham on the opening day, Burnley in the league have beaten the Mackems and got a draw at Forest, in between they conceded winning goals for the opposition in added time at Old Trafford and at home to Luckypool. Man City are obviously massive favourites and will be expected to win, but they aren’t the formidable force of the past.
A spirited start to the season for the mackems after spending relatively big money. Forest have some really good players still though and after their managerial shenanigans have calmed down, they should win this one against Sunderland.
Spurs v Wolves (8pm)
Only one place separated these two clubs last season in the Premier League and I predict Wolves to get at least a point.
Not quite on the level of how the media go on about Chelsea but Spurs another that get laughable hype. They lost at home to Bournemouth in the league and last time in the PL they were very lucky to draw 2-2 at Brighton having been two down and the Seagulls should have finished them off. Wolves have lost all five Premier League matches but won both Carabao Cup matches against PL opposition, West Ham and Everton. Just as I don’t think Spurs are anywhere near as good as the media want us to believe, I don’t think Wolves are as bad as many think. Their manager got a tune out of them last season and I think their successful fight for survival can start here, with a point or even surprise win.
Sunday 28 September
Villa v Fulham (2pm)
The only game that Fulham have lost in all competitions this season, was when cheated out of taking the lead at Chelsea and then losing. The only game Villa have won this season was in midweek against Bologna in the Europa League. Villa fortunate to win that and couldn’t even win last weekend when leading against ten man Sunderland. I think Fulham win this on Sunday.
Newcastle v Arsenal – The only match that really counts. Newcastle looking to make it four home wins in a row over Arsenal (without conceding a goal in any of the last three at St James’ Park against the Gunners. With four clean sheets in five PL games so far, I fancy Nick Pope could add another one, with NUFC winning by one or two goals.
Everton v West Ham (8pm)
David Moyes seems to be doing an ok if not spectacular job with Everton. Their loss to Wolves in midweek suggesting they have limitations and no better than average, if that.
Moyes was twice appointed as manager at West Ham and knows all about the mess there. Potter sacked today and apparently Nuno lined up. Maybe the Hammers will get a bit of a new manager bounce that is high enough to get them a point in a match that not many neutrals will be desperate to watch.
