Paris Saint-Germain suffered a double injury blow with Achraf Hakimi and Ousmane Dembele during the 2-1 defeat against Bayern Munich in the Champions League group game last night.
L’Equipe predicts that both could be ruled out of action for several weeks.
Dembele was hauled off inside 25 minutes after sustaining a potential calf discomfort. Lee Kang-in replaced him.
Not long after, Hakimi suffered a devastating ankle injury following a reckless foul from Luis Diaz, for which he received a red card.
The Moroccan right-back was in visible anguish when taken off the field. He was also spotted leaving Parc des Princes with crutches.
The report forecasts Hakimi’s absence could range from three to five weeks, pending the medical examinations which he will undergo in the coming days.
It has also cast doubt on Hakimi’s participation in the AFCON 2025 starting next month.
The 27-year-old was rested for the Ligue 1 game against Lorient to manage his workload before he returned against Nice last week.
PSG manager Luis Enrique now faces a big task of filling Hakimi-sized hole, with a lack of reliable backup options available in the squad.
Meanwhile, the situation is quite alarming regarding Dembele’s fitnes due to recurring injuries this season.
After staying injury free in the 2024/25 season, during which played a pivotal role in the treble achievement, the 2025 Ballon d’Or winner has missed seven games this season with hamstring problem.
Desire Doue also recently picked up a severe thigh injury, which will keep him out of action until the end of the year or January.
A lacklustre first-half display and Diaz’s double undid Les Parisiens, despite Joao Neves’ effort and an improved performance after the break. It also marked their first defeat in this season’s UCL.
