Paris Saint-Germain’s Lucas Beraldo (21) has been called up to the Brazil squad after Arsenal’s Gabriel was carded in the match against Colombia.
As a result of receiving a yellow card against Colombia, Gabriel will miss the game against Argentina later in the international break. As a result, a replacement has been called up and he comes in the form of Beraldo. The centre-back, unlike PSG teammate Marquinhos, had initially missed out on Dorival Jr.’s squad, however, he has now been brought in to breach the hole.
Beraldo has not been prominent this season. He has made 23 appearances in all competitions. 19 of those have come as starts. Tellingly, however, he has not started any UEFA Champions League encounter. Instead, it has been Willian Pacho, who is enjoying an excellent debut season at the Parc des Princes, who has been preferred.
However, the young Brazilian may now get the chance to impress for his national team.
