Quentin Ndjantou scored his first professional goal for Paris Saint-Germain in a 3-2 match at Metz, starting in midfield.

His strike made him PSG’s 19th scorer this season, the 17th in Ligue 1. According to L'Équipe, he said the spread of goals shows their collective strength.

He joined PSG aged 13 from Villejuif. This first senior goal came in his 13th appearance, comprising 10 in Ligue 1 and 3 in the Champions League.

Luis Enrique’s staff took notice after his Youth League hat-trick against Atalanta on 17 September, a 5-1 win, then brought him into the first-team group. He played that day as a centre forward.

Like Senny Mayulu, he covers multiple roles. His three Ligue 1 starts have been in midfield, including Saturday, while his Champions League start against Tottenham on 26 November, a 5-3, was up front, and his cameos have been as a relay midfielder or on a flank in the 4-3-3.

At Saint-Symphorien he arrived from the right-sided number eight berth to jab in a right-footed finish to Ibrahim Mbaye’s pass on 39 minutes. He might have had an assist at 45+4 had Gonçalo Ramos scored, and he already has two this season, one in Ligue 1 and one in the Champions League.

Enrique has called him the surprise of the season, praising his runs in behind and ability to start from deep. Metz coach Stéphane Le Mignan also lauded Ndjantou and Mbaye as elite in their generation, noting a stable game helps their integration.
