Rafael Leao: Fenerbahce ‘to seek’ €40m deal as officials land in Milan | OneFootball

Fenerbahce have intensified their move for Rafael Leao, sending officials to Italy for face-to-face talks with Milan and the forward’s representatives, while Galatasaray and Benfica are also interested.

Sport Italia and Yagiz Sabuncuoglu report that a plane carrying director Cihan Kamer and club officials landed at Milan airport on Monday evening.

Their trip is aimed at agreeing a fee and personal terms with Milan’s hierarchy and Leao’s camp.

Reports suggest Fenerbahce want a deal worth up to €40m, the minimum Milan might accept. The Rossoneri refuse to sanction any arrangement based on a loan with an option to buy.

Leao remains on holiday after Portugal’s World Cup campaign, having travelled to Brazil to promote his clothing brand.

He is preparing to join Milan’s pre-season tour in Australia, and is scheduled to fly directly later this week unless he agrees a transfer before then.

Both Milan and Leao accept that a parting of ways will happen this summer, yet the anticipated bids have not arrived, with serious interest so far limited to Turkish clubs.

Benfica and Galatasaray have shown interest, with the Portuguese side moving more decisively after talks over free-agent Mohamed Salah stalled. Fenerbahce are the first club to open talks face to face in Italy.
