Barcelona will lock horns with Newcastle United at St. James’ Park this Thursday night as they look to secure a win on the road in the UEFA Champions League. The Catalan club managed to earn a dominant 6-0 victory over Valencia recently, which should give them a lot of confidence going into this clash.
Hansi Flick will opt for the 4-2-3-1 formation once again and is expected to make a couple of changes to his first XI for this game. Both Raphinha and Robert Lewandowski could get a chance to impress from the start of this contest versus the Magpies.
Joan Garcia will operate in between the sticks for the Catalan club after keeping a clean sheet in his last outing. Eric Garcia will continue to operate alongside Pau Cubarsi at the centre of Barcelona‘s backline as they look to keep things solid at the back during the 90 minutes.
Jules Kounde will try to give a good account of himself as the right-back, while Gerard Martin looks to prove his worth on the other side as the left-back. Both of them will have to pick and choose their moments to join in on the attack.
Jofre Torrents and Ronald Araujo will provide cover for the defensive positions on the bench.

Marc Casado and Pedri will anchor the midfield for the Catalan club as they look to establish their superiority over the opposition at the centre of the park.
The talented trio of Raphinha, Fermin Lopez and Ferran Torres will operate just ahead of them as part of the Barca attack. All three of them need to combine well if they want to engineer enough chances to win this game at St. James’ Park.
Dani Olmo will have to be content with a place on the bench and might come on to influence the game in the second 45 minutes if required.
Robert Lewandowski will lead the charge for the Catalan giants up top. He would be eager to get his name on the scoresheet after scoring a brace as a substitute versus Valencia recently.
Marcus Rashford will make up the numbers on the bench as he awaits his chance to make an impact in the final quarter of the contest if needed.
