Former Leeds United winger Raphinha faces a nervy wait over an injury after going off in Brazil's 3-0 win against Haiti, putting his World Cup involvement in doubt.
"Raphinha will be evaluated tomorrow, right now we don't know what happened," he told The Mirror. "I put Rayan in because he showed good quality, he has a different profile from Raphinha, probably, it's small details that determine the entry of one player or another. It's all about small details."
Brazil won in Philadelphia overnight, with Manchester United striker Matheus Cunha scoring twice and Vinicius Junior adding a third before half-time. Raphinha started, had a goal ruled out for offside, then received treatment before being replaced on 39 minutes by Bournemouth winger Rayan amid reports of hamstring tightness.
Any hamstring problem would be a major setback with the tournament ending in four weeks. Earlier this year he missed almost five weeks with a hamstring strain, while a minor issue in February sidelined him for a fortnight.
Lucas Paqueta said: "I think we're all worried. We hope it's nothing serious. I still don't know anything, he still has to have an exam."
Raphinha is yet to make his mark at this World Cup, his early withdrawal following a fringe outing in a 1-1 draw with Morocco. The 29-year-old did not score in Qatar four years ago and is still seeking a first goal at the tournament. Brazil face Scotland late on Wednesday night, UK time, with Carlo Ancelotti expected to provide a further update before then.
