Rasmus Hojlund has revealed the secret behind his incredible turnaround since leaving Manchester United and joining Napoli during the summer transfer window.
Since sealing a deadline-day switch to Napoli from United on an initial loan deal, Hojlund has looked like a player reborn.
Before the current international break, Hojlund netted four goals in six appearances for Napoli across all competitions.
His haul featured a brilliant brace that sealed a Champions League win over Sporting CP, followed by a decisive strike to complete a comeback against Genoa.
The United loanee has seemingly carried his fine form into international duty, scoring twice in Denmark’s 6-0 thrashing of Belarus before breaking the deadlock in their 3-1 victory over Greece.
Against Greece, Hojlund displayed brilliant anticipation and awareness, seizing on a mistake from the Greek defence before finishing clinically.
After the final whistle, the 22-year-old spoke to TV 2 and revealed that being “carefree” is the key factor behind his remarkable resurgence.
Hojlund told the news outlet [as quoted by Bold], “It’s clear that not much thought is being given to it, and it’s a bit carefree at the moment.”
“I might look for it a little more and read it a little better.”
Meanwhile, Lazio star and Denmark teammate Gustav Tang Isaksen revealed that Hojlund is seen as one of the best players in Italy.
Isaksen explained to Viaplay Sport Denmark [via Manchester Evening News], “Yes, they always say he’s one of the best, so I think a lot of people have recognised how good he is.”
“They consistently say he’s among the top players, yes.”
Hojlund and Denmark are back in action on Wednesday when they host Belarus at Parken.
