RB Leipzig enquire about Dahmen to replace Villarreal-linked Gulácsi | OneFootball

RB Leipzig are exploring the market for a goalkeeper with long-serving shot-stopper Péter Gulácsi set to join Villarreal this summer. Kicker reported FC Augsburg’s Finn Dahmen was among their list, but the 28-year-old intends to stay in Bavaria.

According to the report, the Champions League participants enquire about a potential summer deal for the Bundesliga regular. The Wiesbaden native will have to fight with Maarten Vandevoordt for the number one spot if he joins RB Leipzig.

Dahmen played every game last season as he now only needs three matches to be a Bundesliga centurion. After only 13 appearances in three seasons as Robin Zentner’s understudy, Dahmen has been the number one at Augsburg for the past three campaigns. However, his contract will run out at the end of the upcoming season.

Dahmen was a regular squad member of Germany’s national team during the World Cup qualifiers, but he is yet to make his international debut as he also missed out on the final squad for the major tournament.
