RB Leipzig target Celtic’s Arne Engels and AC Milan midfielder Ardon Jashari as alternatives for Borussia Mönchengladbach’s Rocco Reitz | OneFootball

Sky Germany reports that RB Leipzig are looking to improve their midfield options in the summer and have several options on their shortlist. 

Last week, it was reported that Leipzig are interested in Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Rocco Reitz as an option in the summer, but the price of €25-28m could be too much for the club. 

The Saxony side are also looking elsewhere if they are unable to make a deal for the Gladbach captain. Celtic midfielder and former Augsburg player Arne Engels is a target, as is former Borussia Dortmund target and AC Milan midfielder Ardon Jashari. The latter has struggled this season due to recovering from a broken leg, which has restricted him to only eight appearances this season. 

Leipzig’s midfield options:

Whoever does move to the Red Bull Arena in the summer will likely be the replacement for both Kevin Kampl, who has stepped away from football, and Xaver Schlager, whose future at the club is uncertain with his contract expiring in the summer. 

On top of this, Leipzig have Assan Ouedraogo, Ezechiel Banzuzi and Nicolas Seiwald as midfield options, while Christoph Baumgartner has also featured in Ole Werner’s midfield three this season.
