Real Madrid discuss Man City star’s signing with José Mourinho | OneFootball

The brass at La Liga giants Real Madrid this week held discussions with incoming head coach José Mourinho, regarding the signing of Joško Gvardiol.

This comes amid ongoing efforts to source reinforcements for the left side of the club’s backline.

Florentino Pérez and co. have of course already secured fresh blood at both right-back and centre-back for next season, courtesy of deals for Denzel Dumfries and Ibrahima Konaté.

The understanding is that Real Madrid are not done there, though, now eyeing further arrivals on the left.

With as much in mind, a meeting was held with the incoming José Mourinho in Spain’s capital early this week, to talk through the options in the sights of Los Blancos.

And as alluded to above, underlined in red on this shortlist was the name of Manchester City standout Joško Gvardiol.

Transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has revealed that:

‘During meeting at Real Madrid with José Mourinho defenders were discussed. Joško Gvardiol high on list. Manchester City offered him new deal with salary rise last week.’

It is now up to the Croatian international whether to sign fresh terms at The Etihad, or opt for a new adventure in La Liga.
