This Sunday, Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez stepped up to defend the majestic Santiago Bernabéu stadium.
During Real Madrid's General Assembly this Sunday, Florentino Pérez highlighted the economic might of Los Blancos: "Two seasons ago, we became the first club to surpass one billion euros in revenue. And this season, we have reached 1.185 billion euros, representing a 10% increase. This allows us to compete with the giants of the NFL and the NBA."
The president also reminded everyone that the Bernabéu project is "in its final phase" and has already led to a "56%" increase in revenue. He emphasized the institution’s financial strength: "Our net assets have reached 598 million euros… We have invested 1.347 billion euros in the Bernabéu… the club has made a significant contribution to the public economy, paying 356 million euros." Pérez stated that this momentum will enable Real to "take on new challenges" and remain "one of the leading companies in the world". Pérez celebrated the transformation of the Santiago Bernabéu, which he now sees as an international benchmark. "It has undergone a historic transformation. NFL commissioner Roger Goodell said he had 'played in the best stadium in the world.'"
