Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos has found himself at the centre of transfer talks once again, with several UEFA Champions League clubs showing serious interest in signing him this summer.

According to reports from AS, a number of teams have already approached the Spanish international to test the waters for a possible deal.

At the moment, Ceballos plans to remain at Real Madrid. Despite being on the fringes of Xabi Alonso’s squad, the 29-year-old believes he can fight for a place and prove that he deserves more minutes on the pitch.

Situation can change at any time

He is motivated to turn things around and is prepared to take on the challenge of competing for a starting role.

However, the situation could change quickly. The arrival of a new midfielder would push him further down the pecking order.

If that happens, Ceballos may be forced to reconsider his future. Real Madrid, for their part, would not stand in his way if a reasonable offer arrives, with the club valuing him at around €15–20 million.

Decision between Madrid and a return to Betis

Ceballos is currently sixth in Alonso’s list of midfield preferences. It is not an easy place to be, but he accepts the challenge.

He hopes that by convincing Alonso, he can also catch the eye of Luis de la Fuente and secure a place in Spain’s World Cup squad.

If his chances at Madrid become too limited, a return to Real Betis has always been on his mind. Yet, financial hurdles make this move difficult.

The La Liga side cannot afford both the transfer fee and his salary demands, making the deal complicated for now.

For Ceballos, the coming weeks will be crucial. He can either stay at Real Madrid and continue to fight for his spot or accept one of the offers already on the table from Europe’s elite clubs.
