Real Madrid tasted a painful defeat on Saturday afternoon, as Mallorca picked up a crucial 2-1 victory on home soil. It was another disappointing performance from Alvaro Arbeloa’s side, whose La Liga title hopes are fading fast.
Had absolutely nothing to do apart from picking the ball out of his net in the first half.
Didn’t have much defending to do, and while his cross-field passes were good, his final ball was below-par – up until his corner landed on the head of Eder Militao to score Real Madrid’s only goal of the afternoon.
Made a fantastic goal-saving tackle in the first half, and generally, he did well to keep Vedat Muriqi quiet. However, he lost him in stoppage time, which led to the Mallorca man scoring the winner.
Had a tasty battle with Zito Luvumbo, which he won for the most part. He was one of the three taken off on the hour mark as Real Madrid stepped up their search for an equaliser.
His first start for a number of weeks, and he looked like a player that was not fully sharp.
Lively first start for the 22-year-old, who was always looking to get involved in the action. He can be happy with his 60-minute performance.
A typical performance where he controlled his area of the pitch, but he did little else outside of that.
Competed in the middle of the park, and looked to provide a threat in attack. However, he did neither with much success.
Real Madrid’s best player, especially in an attacking sense. He was a regular threat with his set-piece deliveries, and in open play, he was very bright in midfield.
Kept his place in the line-up by way of Vinicius Junior being rested, but he could not make any impact. It was a major surprise that he lasted as long as 76 minutes on the pitch.
Should have scored twice in the first half, and in the second, he was limited to scraps by a fantastic Mallorca rearguard.
Real Madrid were much more of a threat after he came on, but he could not make a decisive impact on his own.
Confident performance from the Englishman, who gave Real Madrid more going forward.
One of the very few positives for Real Madrid, as he returned to action after five months out. He marked his return with a goal, although it was for nothing in the end.
Barely involved during his cameo.
Picked up a couple of nice positions, but couldn’t go anything with them.
