A member of the attacking ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid sent a clear message to manager Xabi Alonso by way of his performance in the club’s latest outing.

The player in question? Rodrygo.

Real Madrid were of course back in action a short time ago.

Turning focus back towards matters on the continent, Los Blancos made the long trip to Kazakhstan, for a Champions League meeting with Kairat.

The aforementioned Rodrygo was for his part forced to watch on from the bench once more from the off in Almaty.

En route to an eventual 5-0 triumph, however, the Brazilian was introduced to proceedings during the 2nd-half.

And as alluded to above, Rodrygo went on to grasp this opportunity with both hands.

Shining from his berth on the left flank, the 24-year-old terrorised the hosts’ backline, adding a new element of drive and guile to Real Madrid’s attack.

As much culminated in Rodrygo creating the chance for Kylian Mbappé to round out his hat-trick, before also laying on an assist for Eduardo Camavinga.

Amid a challenging start to the campaign which has seen him condemned to the bench more often than not, tonight’s showing proved exactly the kind of impactful message required for Rodrygo to force himself back into prominence under the watch of new boss Xabi Alonso.
