Real Madrid have had a bright start to the new season under coach Xabi Alonso, who has been mightily impressed with the performances of new signings, including Dean Huijsen.
The former Bournemouth starlet, whose agent has recently backed him to win the Golden Boy award this year, has established himself as a first-team regular.
Yet, Alonso still faces uncertainty over who will partner the Spaniard long-term. Antonio Rudiger, David Alaba, and Eder Militao have all struggled with injuries, leaving the Real Madrid boss short on consistent options.
With the summer transfer market closed, Florentino Perez and his team are already looking ahead to January and there is one name that certainly stands above the rest.
According to Defensa Central, Real Madrid have placed Liverpool’s Ibrahima Konate at the very top of their winter transfer agenda.

The Frenchman’s contract situation at Anfield has cast serious doubt over his future, as he has already rejected two renewal proposals.
Real Madrid would ideally like to wait until the end of the season so that they can sign the defender on a free transfer.
However, if Liverpool decide to cash in during the January window rather than risk losing him for nothing, Real Madrid are prepared to spend but only within a strict limit.
The report suggest Los Blancos would be willing to pay around €15 million, far below Konate’s estimated €60 million market value.
For Liverpool, that sum may look underwhelming, yet it could be preferable to letting one of their top defenders walk for free to a direct Champions League rival.
Real Madrid, meanwhile, could certainly welcome the addition of proven star like Konate as they look to find a long-term defensive partner for Huijsen.
