Real Sociedad will travel to France to face Toulouse on 31 July, their fourth pre-season friendly. According to Diario Vasco, kick-off is at 19.00 at the Stade Maurice Trélut in Tarbes.

Matarazzo’s side face a demanding summer, adding Toulouse to tests against English opposition. Toulouse finished ninth in Ligue 1 last season and begin a new project under Danish coach Jens Berthel Askou, who replaces Spaniard Carles Martínez Novell, now in charge of Bayern Leverkusen.

The schedule starts on 18 July against Racing de Santander. On 25 July they meet Aston Villa during the England camp, the standout fixture.

Unai Emery’s side are a Champions League team and winners of the last Europa League. Three days later, on 28 July, Real Sociedad take on Wolverhampton before returning to prepare for the Toulouse trip.

Beyond these four confirmed games, the Euskal Herria Txapela meeting with Athletic is still to be dated. The trophy is usually contested by the two best Basque clubs from the league season, this time Real and Athletic.

Details are also being finalised for a game in Bavaria against Colonia on eight August at the RheinEnergieStadion. If confirmed, it would conclude their friendly programme.
