Régis Le Bris says Romaine Mundle and Jocelin Ta Bi are likely to miss the rest of the campaign, while he remains hopeful Bertrand Traoré might feature before it ends.
According to Sunderland Echo, Mundle and Ta Bi have had hamstring and ankle surgery respectively, and Le Bris does not expect either to return to training until the very end of the season. They are unlikely to be risked and will instead focus on being ready for pre-season.
Le Bris added that Traoré could be back sooner and play some part in the run-in if his fitness allows.
The head coach has an improved injury picture after a three-week break from fixtures, with Robin Roefs now ready to return.
Dan Ballard and Nilson Angulo remain sidelined but are very close to comebacks, while Reinildo, Enzo Le Fée and Nordi Mukiele are in contention to return to the starting XI on Sunday.
