The 23-year-old was recalled by Chelsea, and the Blues are now looking to find another solution before the end of the window.

Auxerre want to sign David Datro Fofana

Chelsea paid Norwegian side Molde around £10m for the forward in January 2023, but he was never given a proper chance to show what he could do.

Datro Fofana has made just four appearances for the Blues and has been sent on multiple loan spells around Europe.

Datro Fofana has made just four appearances for Chelsea.

It’s clear the Ivory Coast international has no future at the club, and L’Equipe have reported Auxerre are interested in signing him.

The report states discussions are ongoing over a loan with an option to buy, with another French side also thought to be interested.

L’Equipe add clubs from Qatar are also interested in Datro Fofana, who’s under contract at Stamford Bridge until 2029.

The striker isn’t the only player the Blues are trying to offload before the end of the window, with Chelsea looking to find solutions for Tyrique George and Axel Disasi.

Emmanuel Emegha to arrive in the summer

Whilst Chelsea are looking to offload Datro Fofana, they already have a new striker arriving in the summer in the form of Emmanuel Emegha.

Emegha has penned a seven year deal at Stamford Bridge and will complete his move to Chelsea at the end of the season.

The Dutch international scored 14 goals in Ligue 1 last season under Liam Rosenior, and is expected to go straight into the first team squad to compete for minutes with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap.
