Torino president Urbano Cairo has reportedly sounded out an audacious move for former Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi.
According to La Stampa via FCInterNews, the Serie A strugglers are keen to sign the Galatasaray superstar on a free transfer.
Mauro Icardi will become a free agent at the end of the season.
Indeed, his contract at Rams Park expires in June 2026, with Galatasaray seemingly unwilling to offer him fresh terms.
Therefore, the Argentine will be available on a Bosman deal.

Cairo reportedly holds the 32-year-old striker in high esteem.
However, it’s hard to expect Torino to lure Icardi back to Serie A in January.
Indeed, a summer move looks far more likely, considering it would reduce the financial burden.
Yet, there’s a significant roadblock in the shape of Icardi’s substantial wages.
Icardi earns around €6 million net per season in Istanbul.
