Inter Milan star Yann Bisseck has reportedly suffered a thigh injury ahead of Sunday’s high-stakes Serie A clash against Roma.
According to Sky Sport Italia via FCInterNews, the German defender is at risk of missing Inter’s next two league fixtures.
Despite staying at Appiano Gentile during the international break, the 25-year-old has handed Cristian Chivu a fresh injury concern.
Indeed, Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann omitted the former Aarhus center-back from his squad for the March friendlies.
However, Bisseck injured himself in training and will not be at Chivu’s disposal for the upcoming game at San Siro.
Bisseck will not be available on Sunday, meaning it’ll be either Francesco Acerbi or Stefan de Vrij to take his place.
Meanwhile, the German could also miss Inter’s trip to Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia to face top-four hopefuls Como next week.
Unfortunately, Bisseck couldn’t have timed his injury any worse, as Inter need all hands on deck to win the Scudetto race.
On the bright side, Lautaro Martinez has regained full fitness and is likely to lead the line against Roma.
Furthermore, there’s a good chance for veteran midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan to make the matchday squad this weekend.
