Man City are reportedly ready to pay the €25 million release clause to sign Inter Milan wingback Denzel Dumfries this summer.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper La Repubblica, via FCInter1908.
Inter Milan are considering the possibility that they could lose Denzel Dumfries this summer.
The Nerazzurri will not lose the Dutchman for free. He signed a contract extension last year.
However, that new deal includes a release clause of €25 million.
Moreover, Inter are aware that Dumfries is not altogether happy with the harsh words from Inter captain Lautaro Martinez earlier this week.
Then, there is the fact that Dumfries has changed his agent to Jorge Mendes. That could very well be a signal of intent to leave the club this summer.

Inter Milan are waiting to see if any clubs move in for Dumfries.
The fact that the 29-year-old’s release clause expires on the 15th of this month means that if anything is top happen, it has to happen soon.
And according to La Repubblica, Premier League giants Manchester City are ready to move.
The Cityzens have made right-back one of their priorities in the summer transfer window. They need a long-term replacement for Kyle Walker in the position.
Therefore, Dumfries is certainly an attractive target for City.
And furthermore, La Repubblica note, the fact that City can simply pay the release clause means that a deal for Dumfries is very attractive indeed for them.
