Manchester United are already making future recruitment plans, and they want to sign Zeno Debast from Sporting CP.

The 21-year-old defender has a €80 million (£70 million) release clause in his contract, and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United are willing to break the bank for him.

Zeno Debast is an elite talent

He is capable of operating as a central defender as well as a defensive midfielder. His versatility could be an added bonus for Manchester United if they managed to sign the player in January. They could certainly use more quality and depth in the defensive unit, and the 21-year-old would be a long-term addition for them.

He is highly rated across Europe, and he has the physicality and technical attributes to do well in the Premier League. He could develop into an important player for Manchester United with the right guidance. The Premier League giants have a tremendous record when it comes to grooming young players. They have done well to nurture talented young players over the years, and they could help the best fulfil his tremendous potential as well.

According to GMS, Manchester United have sent Scouts to watch the player in action. It will be interesting to see if they follow up on their interest with an official proposal to sign the player.

Debast would add a new dimension

The defender was quite impressive for Sporting CP last season, and he contributed with two goals and four assists in all competitions. Apart from his defensive qualities, he will add a new dimension to the Manchester United attack from pieces as well. The 21-year-old is a towering defender who is extremely good in the air.

Furthermore, the player is already showing great leadership qualities, and he has been backed to become a “good captain” in future.

It will be interesting to see if Manchester United can convince Sporting CP to accept a reasonable amount of money for the player.
