In a week, Franco Mastantuono will be presented as the latest addition to the Real Madrid squad this summer following his transfer from River Plate.
Real Madrid have splashed a big sum of €63 million to rope in the 17-year-old versatile attacker, who arrived in Spain last week and will be presented in front of the media in a week, after he turns 18.
Despite being only 17 years old, Mastantuono had established himself as a key player at River Plate over the past year or so. Now that he is joining Real Madrid, the youngster is set for a prominent role in Xabi Alonso’s plans as well.
As such, Mundo Deportivo reports that Mastantuono will earn a salary of around €3.5 million per year at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It places him on the lower side of the salary scale at Real Madrid but is still a significant pay packet for a player who will turn 18 later this month and comes with zero experience in Europe.
In comparison, another former River Plate prodigy, Claudio Echeverri, is understood to be on a salary of around €900,000 per year at Manchester City.
Mastantuono has signed a six-year contract at Real Madrid which runs until 2031. As mentioned earlier, the teenage sensation is set to have a key role in Alonso’s plans at the club.
In fact, it is not ruled out that the 17-year-old starlet, who can play as a right winger or a central attacking midfielder, will be handed a starting berth as soon as he has trained with the rest of the squad and built up some rhythm.
Mastantuono is working by himself at the moment with a trainer from the club and will join up with the rest of his teammates after his presentation on August 14 – only days before Real Madrid’s La Liga opener against Osasuna.
