Inter Milan have made clear to Roma that they have no intention of loaning out Canadian international wingback Tajon Buchanan.
This according to today’s print edition of Rome-based newspaper Corriere dello Sport, via FCInterNews. They report that the Nerazzurri would only consider cash offers for the 25-year-old.
Buchanan is a player who’s come onto Roma’s radar.
The Giallorossi have already been strongly linked with one Inter in recent days, in the form of midfielder Davide Frattesi.
But Roma also see Buchanan as a target, according to reports.
The capital club are aiming to add quality as well as versatility to Claudio Ranieri’s squad. And for that reason, they are fans of Buchanan’s ability to cover wide and midfield roles, both more defensive and outright attacking.
Roma have yet to make a formal approach to Inter to try and sign Buchanan.
The fact that the former Club Brugge wingback has hardly cemented a starting place for himself at the Nerazzurri since arriving last January could be a positive sign for the Giallorossi.
However, Inter have made their stance very clear.
The Nerazzurri have no interest in loaning the Canadian out.
Therefore, Roma will have to make an offer to sign Buchanan on a permanent basis. And Inter would expect a significant cash fee.
