According to SuperDepor.com, River Plate are said to have finalised three further reinforcements during their pre-season in Alicante. Rafael Santos Borré and Lucas Beltrán are poised to return, while right-back Giovanni González is also lined up.

An agreement in principle is understood to be in place with Borré, 30, who previously shone for River between 2017 and 2021 before moving to Eintracht Frankfurt. He would accept much less pay than at Internacional of Porto Alegre, with a fee around 2.5 million dollars.

Beltrán, 25, would move following an agreement between River and Fiorentina after his loan at Valencia. River would pay 7.5 million euros for 50% of his rights, and he left for Fiorentina in August 2023 for 25 million.

The third deal, expected to be confirmed in the coming days, involves the Uruguayan Giovanni González, 31, from Krasnodar, Russia, for 500,000 dollars.

These moves come amid talks over Ángel Correa and Thiago Almada as potential additions for the second part of 2026.

River would be up to five additions, the trio joining Nicolás Otamendi, who has World Cup involvement, and Mauro Arambarri.

Eduardo "Chacho" Coudet’s squad is training in Spain to escape the Argentine winter, as the club reshapes the squad, with only 19 players travelling.

River’s first test in the second half of the year is scheduled for 17 July in the Copa Argentina, against Aldosivi de Mar del Plata in Salta in the round of 32.
