Rodrigo Gomes has been a rare bright spot for Wolves this season, and his form is drawing Premier League attention as a likely relegation looms.
It has been a campaign to forget for the Old Gold, one that may end in the drop barring a miracle. Gomes' direct running has often given them an outlet.
"For me, one of the ones you build the squad around, if you can keep him, I think you have to try and keep him. You have to get in there and say 'give us a year'."
The comments were made on the E&S podcast.
"If Rob plays a back four, which I'm guessing he probably will do next season then Rodrigo has to be one of the attackers, not a full-back. And I think he does really well in the Championship if you keep him."
"However, there are clubs already in the Premier League and elsewhere who are starting to have a look at him, and starting to have a few conversations with a few representatives, if you will."
Gomes cost £12.7 million in the summer and remains one of the club's most popular players. He has 19 appearances, 762 minutes, 5 goals and 0 assists in 2025/26.
If bids arrive, Wolves will need to decide how strongly to protect a promising attacker, or else secure a high fee. His profile suggests he could thrive in the Championship.
