Santos have ended Rafael Freitas’s loan early, the 20-year-old forward returning to Guarani. According to Globo.com, the agreement had been due to run until June.
Freitas joined Santos in 2024 and featured mainly for the under-20s and under-23s. He was named in three senior squads under Vojvoda but did not make his debut.
He was in strong form in 2025 at youth level, scoring five in six, before a knee injury against São Paulo in April’s under-20 Brasileiro ruled him out for the rest of the season.
After recovering, he played this year’s Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior, then moved up to the first team having aged out of the academy. With limited opportunities, Santos chose not to trigger the purchase option set at R$ 1.2 million.
Born in Casa Branca, São Paulo state, he joined Guarani at 13. Three goals in the 2024 Copinha earned a promotion to the professionals, and he later made nine appearances for the Bugre before his Santos loan.
Back in Campinas, he will be integrated into the squad preparing for Série C. His contract at Guarani runs until May 2027.
