Santos have pulled out of signing José Aldo from Mirassol after becoming unhappy with the player’s stance in talks, according to Diario Do Peixe.

The midfielder’s approach displeased the board, as he sought to gauge the club’s stature and the level of pressure he would face.

The Football Department had already aligned an agreement with Mirassol and set a three-year deal and salary terms with the player. Owing to the talks, he was left out of Mirassol’s squad against Capivariano on Sunday.

Despite withdrawing, the Alvinegro are still exploring other options. So far this year they have added three reinforcements, midfielder Gabriel Menino on loan from Atlético-MG, centre-forward Gabriel Barbosa on loan from Cruzeiro, and forward Rony on a permanent deal.

Santos are also close to completing a permanent move for forward Moisés from Fortaleza. Further moves include permanent deals for defender Zé Ivaldo and attacking midfielder Barreal after loans ended, the return of Miguelito from América-MG, and Neymar Jr’s renewal until the end of the year.
