Santos have sacked head coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda in the early hours of Thursday, shortly after a 2-1 home defeat to Internacional at Vila Belmiro in the seventh round of the Campeonato Brasileiro.
President Marcelo Teixeira and executive director Alexandre Mattos opted to end his tenure amid growing pressure. The club said in a statement that Vojvoda and his staff had departed, thanking them and wishing them success.
Vojvoda leaves after a little over five months in charge with a 42% record. His 34 games produced 10 wins, 14 draws and 10 defeats.
Assistants Nahuel Martínez and Gastón Liendo, fitness coach Luis Azpiazu, goalkeeping coach Santiago Piccinini and psychologist Christian Rodrigues have also left.
Santos will now begin the search for a new head coach. Hernán Crespo and Cuca have been mentioned behind the scenes as possible options.
The team are next in action on Sunday at 16:00 Brasília time against Cruzeiro.
