Belgian international centre-back Sebastiaan Bornauw impressed as he earned his first career Premier League starts against Liverpool and Manchester United.

Ahead of another tough top-flight encounter, as Fulham come to Elland Road on Saturday, the defender spoke exclusively to Premier League Productions.

Bornauw looks forward to another home clash, where the Leeds faithful will be cheering on the Whites in their masses.

“Elland Road is really nice, really electric. I would say Elland Road is in the moment and I think that is what I really, really like. As a player, you get fire in the eyes and that is what I like about our home crowd, it gives you so much energy.”

The Belgian then reflected on United’s strong depth in terms of defenders and his own approach toward internal competition.

“It is part of football,” the 26-year-old added. “Of course, everyone wants to play as much as possible.

“In the beginning of the preseason I had an injury, I was out for four or five weeks so I missed a lot of preseason.

“You are maybe a bit behind because you did not have the preseason and then you are trying to work as hard as possible to come in as quick as possible.

“I am happy that I got starts in two big games. I hope I get many more. We have four good centre-backs, we are all working hard and making each other better every day.”
