Sevilla are accelerating plans to sign Giorgi Kochorashvili as Djibril Sow’s replacement. Sow’s imminent move to Genoa is set to trigger his 4 million euros clause and relieve roughly another 4 million in wages, an overall saving near 8 million.
ABC de Sevilla reports that the club have chosen the Georgia international to lead their midfield and are in advanced talks with Sporting Club de Portugal over a loan.
There is no issue on the player’s side, he has approved the switch to Nervión. After an outstanding 2024-25 with Levante UD, crucial to their promotion to Primera División, he has prioritised Sevilla over offers from Deportivo de La Coruña and Getafe, the latter believing a deal was close only days ago.
The sticking point is the formula. Sporting want to recoup most of the 5.5 million euros invested last summer, pushing for a permanent sale or a loan with an obligation to buy at season’s end.
One route under discussion is a paid loan with an option to buy triggered by sporting objectives. Agreement is not complete, and the coming hours will be pivotal for a move that has energised the home support.
