Sidny Cabral posts intense training video after Benfica omission | OneFootball

Sidny Cabral has resurfaced on social media with an intense training video after missing recent José Mourinho selections, having been left out of Benfica’s squad for the O Clássico against Porto.

He accompanied the clip with the words “Power. Precision. Patience.”

Signed from Estrela da Amadora in the winter window for around six million euros, the 23-year-old has had few opportunities under the Benfica head coach in recent weeks.

His most recent appearance was in Madrid, in the second leg of the Champions League play-off against Real Madrid. After the Bernabéu match he asked Vinícius Júnior for his shirt.

Mourinho later said the gesture was not to be criticised but could have been avoided, in a situation that also involved Gianluca Prestianni, whom Vinícius alleged had directed a racist insult at him.

Across this season with Estrela da Amadora and Benfica, Cabral has 27 appearances, 22 in Liga Portugal Betclic, two in the Taça de Portugal and one in the Taça da Liga, with six goals and six assists.
