St Mirren beat Aberdeen 2-0 in the Scottish Premiership at the SMISA Stadium, extending Aberdeen's winless run to five in all competitions.

St Mirren started on the front foot, with Liam Donnelly heading against the bar from a corner and Per Kristian Worre Braatveit forced into an early save.

Jonah Ayunga broke the deadlock in the 40th minute, drilling a low effort from outside the box into the bottom left after a set piece.

The Dons introduced Kevin Nisbet, Stuart Armstrong and Toyosi Olusanya at the break but created little, failing to register a shot on target.

Scott Tanser, on from the bench, delivered a cross after a corner for Alexandros Gogic to glance inside the far post (83.).

St Mirren finished with 11 attempts and 57.4% possession. The Dons mustered seven attempts and five corners but none were on target as Shamal George kept a comfortable clean sheet.

St Mirren visit Celtic next. The Dons host Hibernian next. They then face Celtic again in the Scottish Cup semi-finals.
