Wolves v Newcastle

Sunday, 14:00Live on Sky Sports

Wolves extended their unbeaten run to four games with the 6-1 demolition of Shrewsbury in the FA Cup third round last weekend. A real confidence booster for sure, the only blemish being a John Marquis penalty scuppering the clean sheet.

In the Premier League, Rob Edwards' team have taken five points from the last nine on offer and halved the gap between them and Burnley from 10 points to five. The Wanderers were 16 points adrift of safety as well before the uptick in form, now that gap has been slashed to 14 points. Baby steps but at least they are heading in the right direction.

The hosts will fancy their chances of a result on Sunday against Newcastle as well.

The visitors have been streaky this campaign, picking up the majority of their points on their own patch. At St James' Park, the Magpies have only failed to win two of 11 games, on the road they have only won two of 10.

Eddie Howe's side also have a tricky schedule on the horizon.

Newcastle were well beaten in the first leg of the Carabao Cup semi-final against Manchester City on Tuesday. Before the second leg in a little over a fortnight, Newcastle play PSV, Aston Villa, PSG and Liverpool.

This trip to the Molineux looks a tricky one and I certainly wouldn't be in a rush to back the visitors at odds on. No bet for me.

Aston Villa vs Everton

Sunday, 16;30Live on Sky Sports

Aston Villa against Everton means we are going to be treated to another battle between Matty Cash and Jack Grealish.

The pair were both carded in the reverse fixture, both were carded when they squared off prior to that (Villa vs Manchester City) and Grealish was booked in the appearances before that against the Villans.

Maybe the bad-blood has something to do with Grealish's former allegiance to Villa. A local lad and academy product, adored by the fans before he left for the Etihad.

I am not 100% sure what kind of reception he will get on Sunday but if his cards record against his former-club is anything to go by I would say it will not be great.

This is part of the reason the 7/2 about a Grealish card appeals.

Narrative aside, Grealish has also picked up four cards this season (3Y 1R) and drawn the most fouls in the division (2.7 per game).

Matty Cash has five cards in 20 appearances and at 9/2 is worth a tout to be carded on Sunday.

22/1 with the Sportsbook.
