According to Sport Witness, Sunderland could consider a summer move for Almeria attacking midfielder Sergio Arribas after a standout campaign in Spain’s second tier, with his form said to have caught the eye of sporting director Florent Ghisolfi.
Meanwhile, Gazzetta claims Roma are also keen and have identified Arribas and Red Bull Salzburg’s Kerim Alajbegović as leading targets as they prepare for life without Paulo Dybala.
The Black Cats have secured their Premier League status with recent wins over Leeds United and local rivals Newcastle United, and are shaping plans for the summer window.
Other reported targets include Bologna and Colombia defender Jhon Lucimi, Brøndby’s Clement Bischoff and Clermont Foot midfielder Habib Keita.
A Real Madrid academy graduate, Arribas joined Almeria in summer 2023 for a reported £5m and has delivered 38 goals and 16 assists in 116 appearances since. He has 27 goal involvements in 33 outings this season in the Segunda Division and had previously attracted interest from Chelsea.
