Sport Witness reports that Sunderland could move for Almeria attacking midfielder Sergio Arribas this summer after his form caught the eye of sporting director Florent Ghisolfi.
Gazzetta dello Sport claims Roma are also keen, identifying Arribas and Red Bull Salzburg’s Kerim Alajbegović as leading targets as they plan for life without Paulo Dybala. Arribas had previously been linked with Chelsea before his Almeria switch.
Sunderland have begun shaping their window plans after securing Premier League safety with recent wins over Leeds United and neighbours Newcastle United. Other reported targets include Bologna and Colombia defender Jhon Lucimi, Brøndby’s Clement Bischoff and Clermont Foot midfielder Habib Keita.
A Real Madrid academy graduate, Arribas joined the Segunda Division club in summer 2023 for a reported £five million. He has 38 goals and 16 assists in 116 appearances and this season has 27 goal involvements in 33 league games.
Any approach would add to a growing shortlist as Sunderland assess options ahead of the summer window.
