Sunderland’s Premier League fixtures: Full 2026-27 schedule and dates | OneFootball

According to NY Times, the 2026-27 Premier League fixture list has been released. Sunderland start their second season back away at newly promoted Ipswich Town on 22 August. The first Tyne-Wear derby is at Newcastle on 5 December, with the return at the Stadium of Light on 1 May.

Regis Le Bris’ side finished seventh in 2025-26, sealing Europa League qualification with a 2-1 win over Chelsea on the final day of their first top-flight campaign in nine years. They won both derbies last term and are unbeaten against Newcastle in the Premier League since August 2011.

Fulham are the first visitors, with Brentford away completing the opening three. Arsenal at home then Manchester City away follow in games four and five, and the City trip is likely to move to Sunday as it comes after their first Europa League league-phase game. They end the season at home to Manchester City on 30 May.

Five successive home league matches, against Leeds United on 24 October, Chelsea on 7 November, Tottenham Hotspur on 28 November, Nottingham Forest on 12 December and Coventry City on 23 January, will be pushed back to accommodate Thursday night football.

Sunderland return to Europe for the first time since 1973, with potential opponents including AC Milan, Juventus and Bayer Leverkusen. The 36-team league phase features eight fixtures, four home and four away, and the draw is on 28 August. The final is on 26 May 2027 at Deutsche Bank Park in Frankfurt.
