Takumi Minamino (30) is set to extend his contract at AS Monaco, L’Équipe understands. The Japan international’s current deal had been set to expire at the end of next season.
After a difficult debut season at the Principality club, Minamino has become an important part of Monaco’s attacking line. This season, the former Liverpool forward has six goals and five assists in 33 games in all competitions. Last season, he registered 15 goal contributions (nine goals, six assists) in 31 games in all competitions.
Minamino will now be rewarded with a new deal, as per L’Équipe. A deal between the player and Les Monégasques has already been agreed. It will be a one-year extension, tying him to the Principality club until the summer of 2027. The new contract comes after the likes of Aleksandr Golovin, Maghnes Akliouche, Soungoutou Magassa, and manager Adi Hütter all signed their own contract extensions.
