Manchester United and Chelsea are currently in talks over a deal to take Brazilian international midfielder Andrey Santos to Old Trafford, according to the Daily Mail.

The Red Devils have already agreed a deal with Atalanta for his fellow Brazilian Ederson, and the 22-year-old Blues star could be joining him at the Theatre of Dreams.

Man United are edging closer to a move for Santos, with a deal to sign the ‘unbelievable’ youngster progressing.

Chelsea are open to selling Santos but want £50 million for his services.

The Red Devils are looking to pay less, and while negotiations are continuing, there is a growing confidence that the deal gets done.

Santos will be eager to join a club playing in the Champions League and prove himself after the blow of missing out on the World Cup.

The former Vasco da Gama star has six caps for his country, making two appearances so far this year.

He was named in Brazil’s preliminary 55-man squad for the World Cup but did not make the final 26-man squad.

Carlo Ancelotti also preferred the Man United-bound Ederson ahead of Santos when he named a replacement for right-back Wesley, who got injured a few days before the tournament.

Playing in the elite European competition will help boost his chances of becoming a regular for his country.

However, Santos could end up competing with Ederson for a place in the Man United starting XI and the national team.
