The Blues were handed their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat without scoring as they lost 1-0 to Man United on Saturday evening.

It now means Chelsea’s only win in their last seven games came against League One side Port Vale in the FA Cup.

Delap claims Chelsea believe they can finish top five and win FA Cup

With five games remaining Chelsea sit sixth, four points behind Liverpool in fifth who occupy the final Champions League position.

The Blues need to look over their shoulder as they are level on points with Brentford and Bournemouth, and just a point ahead of Brighton.

Missing out on the Champions League again would have consequences and could impact what Chelsea are looking to do over the summer.

Chelsea are still in the FA Cup and have a semi final against Leeds at Wembley next Sunday as they continue their hunt for a first domestic trophy since 2018.

Despite their struggles, Delap insisted after the United loss there was still a belief at Chelsea they can finish in the top five and win the FA Cup.

“We all believe in each other, and we have the belief we can get both of them,” he told Chelsea’s website.

“That’s our plan, that’s our aim. We have to look forward to Tuesday, and then we’ve got a massive game against Leeds.

“If we just iron out a few little details then we should be all right.”
