Huddersfield Town have been one of the most active clubs in League One this season, with more incomings and outgoings expected in West Yorkshire

Huddersfield Town kicked off their League One season with a 3-0 victory over Leyton Orient, with two new signings getting on the scoresheet in the process.

Huddersfield have shown their ambition of breaking into the play-offs this season under new manager Lee Grant, following a disappointing tenth-place finish last season.

The Terriers have made 12 new additions so far with 13 players having left this summer as Grant has looked to completely revamp the squad.

Huddersfield fans will be hoping that the array of new additions to their squad not only lifts them closer to the play-offs, but into the automatic promotion conversation, where many fans and pundits alike have tipped them to finish.

Grant joins Huddersfield, which is his first head managerial role, after spending the previous three years as part of Kieran McKenna's coaching staff at Ipswich, so he knows what it takes to get a club out of this league.

With the transfer window not shutting until 7pm on September 1st and rumours still flying across social media, there may yet be more incomings and outgoings at the Accu Stadium before the deadline.

Football League World has taken a look at a few players who could depart the club before the window slams shut.

Freddie Ladapo

Ladapo will know Grant well from their time together at Ipswich. However, it appears as though there is no room for sentiment as far as Grant is concerned, with Ladapo having been left out of the matchday squad against Huddersfield's opener.

The Englishman has rarely stayed in one place for a long time, with Huddersfield being the 19th club of his career despite still being just 32.

With Alfie May, Joe Taylor and Dion Charles ahead of him in the pecking order, his days at the club appear to be limited and another move for the journeyman could be sanctioned before the deadline.

Rhys Healey

Healey joined the Terriers in a deal worth up to £2 million from Watford last summer, but it has been a far from ideal time in West Yorkshire for the Englishman.

The former Toulouse striker hit 20 goals in France during the 2021/22 season, but three years on, Healey made just nine appearances for the Terriers last season, never nailing down a place in the side before injury kept him out for a large portion of the second half of the season.

Similarly, with Ladapo, Healey has May, Taylor and Charles ahead of him in the pecking order and, unless he can find a way to prove himself to Grant, he will likely not play for the club again.

Lee Nicholls

With Owen Goodman coming in on loan for the season from Crystal Palace, Lee Nicholls has seemingly lost his place as number one.

Goodman had an excellent spell on loan with AFC Wimbledon last season, playing every game for the Dons as they finished fifth in League Two and were ultimately promoted via the play-offs.

The 21-year-old, who is eligible to represent Canada as well as England, started the Terriers' first league match of the season and kept a clean sheet in the process, while Nicholls could only find room on the bench.

Nicholls, 32, has been Huddersfield's undisputed starting keeper since his move from MK Dons in 2021 barring a couple of shoulder injuries, but has seemingly lost his place in goal to the incoming Goodman.
