Real Madrid’s elections today will decide the direction the club’s long-term project will take, and all signs point to Florentino Perez retaining control of the club.
If he wins, Jose Mourinho will be the team’s next manager and the Portuguese coach will have a big say in the team’s signings and transfer activity.
On that front, in fact, the ‘Special One’ has already begun taking part in Real Madrid’s decision-making process and has reportedly asked for five signings in the summer.
As confirmed by Defensa Central in a recent report, the soon-to-be Real Madrid manager has already put forth a list of signings he requires for his first season back at the club.

Two of the five transfers are already closed and only pending official confirmation – Ibrahima Konate and Denzel Dumfries.
The three remaining signings that he wishes for are Bernardo Silva, Riccardo Calafiori, and Matheus Fernandez. What is clear from his choices is that he agrees that the team’s defence and midfield are the weak areas.
Florentino Perez is on a mission to bring Real Madrid back to being a worthy challenger for all titles in Europe this season, and he is thus prepared to provide Mourinho with all the ammunition he demands.

In addition to the five signings requested by the manager, in fact, he is looking to make a ‘Galactic’ signing worth at least €150 million, and will launch a bid for the player on Tuesday if he wins the elections.
All signs point to Michael Olise being the player targeted, and it remains to be seen how Perez manages to pull off a transfer of such massive implications.
