Leeds United have a clutch of senior squad numbers open for prospective summer signings.
Recruitment is under way, with one addition close. Harry Wilson is expected to join as a free agent after a deal was agreed for the former Fulham winger, who registered 10 goals and seven assists last season.
According to yorkshireeveningpost.co.uk, Leeds are also pursuing Shea Charles after bids worth north of £20million, while hope remains of persuading free agent Julian Brandt. Whoever arrives, and Wilson looks the most imminent, must choose a shirt for the new campaign.
Wilson’s old No. eight at Craven Cottage is taken at Elland Road by Sean Longstaff, but several alternatives are free.
No. five was vacated by Pascal Struijk after his £20m move to Brighton, the Dutchman wore it for two years.
No. twelve was used by loan winger Jaidon Anthony in 2023/24 before his return to Bournemouth, and has been unclaimed since. Past holders include Gordon Strachan and Paul Rachubka.
No. thirteen, often reserved for back-up goalkeepers, was surrendered by Kristoffer Klaesson in 2024 and has previously been worn by Kiko Casilla. Neither Karl Darlow nor Alex Cairns opted for it.
No. sixteen is open following Illan Meslier’s departure at the end of his contract, with Yosuke Ideguchi and Toumani Diagouraga among former wearers.
No. seventeen belonged to Largie Ramazani in 2024/25 but is free after his summer loan to Valencia. He could reclaim it if he stays, although that appears unlikely. Past incumbents include Helder Costa and Alan Smith.
No. 20 was Jack Harrison’s for the first half of last season before a January loan to Fiorentina. He is unlikely to be around next season, so the number should remain available.
