These two backed 49ers and Martin, now they want Gerrard and Dyche | OneFootball

When we learned Kris Boyd endorsed Sean Dyche and Dave King endorsed the return of Steven Gerrard, who are the two top favourites for the Rangers job, well, Ibrox Noise quickly changed our stances.

Not only did Boyd highlight Dyche’s close relationship with Sporting Director Kevin Thelwell, but he was all in for him. Same guy completely backed Martin for the job.

Meanwhile King has finally got his oar into the media after being asked his favourite. He wants Gerrard. Which means we’re not so keen on our ex-manager coming back. Anything Dave King wants, we don’t.

This is not to say we’ll loathe either of those men being given the job, but it certainly casts a big shadow when their endorsements are from questionable sources.

Boyd is a decent Rangers man, we’re not going to slaughter his intentions, but his judgement is dodgy.

King is just a charlatan who has no business sticking his oar back into this club.

So Gerrard and Dyche, while the clear favourites at this point, are not exactly getting backing from the most reliable of endorsements.

We’re not going to be petty and reject both just because two media types we’re not onside with back them. But we will admit Dyche’s relationship with Thelwell is a big toxic for us.

As for Gerrard, he is the clear favourite outright at this moment, and will likely top polls among fans regarding their choices.

Ibrox Noise will offer such a poll later, and see who you want. We suspect we already know.

But at least we know Kris Boyd endorsed Sean Dyche and who King wants!
