Thiago Fernández inspires Real Oviedo to victory in La Liga

Thiago Fernández had a dream debut in LaLiga. The Argentine forward came off the bench and took just ten minutes to assist Ilyas Chaira for the goal that gave Real Oviedo a 1-0 victory over Girona, on matchday 22 of the Spanish championship.

The former Vélez Sarsfield player returned to official play after more than a year without playing, as his last match was in December. At 21 years old, Fernández showed personality and determination in his first experience in the top tier of Spanish football.

After leaving Vélez, the attacker joined Villarreal and was then loaned to Real Oviedo, which bet on his incorporation as a key piece in the fight for survival. In his debut, he made it clear why the coaching staff trusts him.
