Supporters may have called for his resignation after a poor campaign, but Monaco director general Thiago Scuro remains in post, steering a cost-cutting drive through a vast summer window.

According to L'Équipe, he retains the backing of president Dimitri Rybolovlev.

Wednesday eight July marked the return to the pitch at La Turbie and the presentation of new head coach Filipe Luis, the man intended to embody Monaco's renewal.

Under camera flashes and the gaze of the assembled media at the first session, Scuro and Carlos Avina walked the touchline, shook journalists' hands, then watched the drills set by the new coach's staff.

Attention now turns to the transfer market, where Scuro faces an extensive workload as pre-season begins under Filipe Luis.
