Gnabry has signed a new contract that he will keep at Bayern until 2028.

Blow for Tottenham Hotspur in Serge Gnabry chase?

During the January transfer window, Tottenham Hotspur registered interest in signing the German winger.

Christian Falk told CFBayern last month that Gnabry turned down an approach from Spurs.

Tottenham further informed the winger that they would wait for him if the contract talks did not work out.

He said: “It is TRUE: Tottenham are also interested in Serge Gnabry. The forward is already in talks with Bayern Munich over signing a contract extension.

“Goretzka has no chance for a new contract in Munich, but Gnabry does. There’s a two-year offer on the table, and it seems that he’s prepared to stay put at the Allianz Arena.

“Serge Gnabry has basically turned around and said, “No, I’m talking with Bayern Munich at the moment. Thanks for the interest, but if it works with Bayern, I’m going to stay.” Tottenham have signalled that if things don’t work out for, they’re lying in wait.”

The news will come as a blow for Spurs, but they can still secure a deal for Gnabry’s teammate Leion Goreztka, who will become a free agent next summer.

Reactions to Serge Gnabry deal

Gnabry has been brilliant this season for Vincent Kompany’s side.

He has made 15 appearances in the Bundesliga, scoring six goals and registering five assists.

The 30-year-old winger has also made four starts in the Champions League, and a further three appearances have come from the bench, scoring one goal and providing three assists.

Gnabry said after signing the new contract: “I’m excited to get to play for Bayern for more years. Talks were always positive.

“When I started at Bayern, I never would’ve thought that I’d be here for 10 years by the end of this contract. My goals are to keep things going.

“We’re a real unit and can achieve something big. The reasons to renew my contract are the team, the coaches, the whole club, the fans, the city and the environment. I feel very much at home at Bayern.”

Max Eberl further added: “Serge Gnabry has grown at Bayern and is one of the absolute pillars of this team. He’s hugely important both on the pitch and in the changing room. He’s won it all with this club and still wants more. That makes him a role model. He represents Bayern.”
